Adah Sharma Opens Up About Her Journey and Legal Battles for Sushant’s Flat
Bollywood Mascot: Adah Sharma, renowned for her role in The Kerala Story, is currently captivating audiences with her latest web series Reeta Sanyal, which premiered on October 16. In a candid interview with Dainik Jagran, Adah shared her experiences navigating the complexities of the film industry, including her struggles to secure meaningful projects post-1920.
Reflecting on her debut 16 years ago with the hit film 1920, Adah expressed her initial optimism about quickly landing significant roles. “When 1920 became a success, I thought opportunities like Reeta Sanyal, The Kerala Story, and Bastar would come my way immediately,” she said. However, it took years for those dreams to materialize, and she now feels a sense of fulfillment as her aspirations are finally being realized.
Following the success of The Kerala Story, Adah is now taking on projects that place her in leading roles. She mentioned that while this wasn’t a strategic decision, she appreciates the newfound trust from filmmakers. “I’m excited about an upcoming sequel to a major film, and my focus is on ensuring the roles I take on are well-written and memorable,” she added.
In Reeta Sanyal, Adah showcases her versatility with ten distinct looks, portraying characters ranging from a food inspector to a fish seller. She shared the challenges of embodying these diverse roles, emphasizing her dedication to presenting varied body language and speech styles for each character.
Adah also discussed her action sequences in the series, attributing her training in martial arts to her preparation for intense scenes. “I enjoy action, and this show features larger-than-life moments that are not part of everyday life,” she explained. Her past experience in films like Commando helped her integrate techniques such as nunchaku and Silambam into her performance.
The actress also addressed her experiences with legal matters, revealing that she often works closely with lawyers regarding contracts. “After purchasing a property, I had to visit court for paperwork, even though it could have been done online. It was a learning experience,” she said.
When reflecting on the mixed reception of Bastar: The Naxal Story, Adah remained focused on her craft. “As an actress, I can only control my performance. I feel fulfilled when my work is recognized positively, regardless of box office outcomes,” she concluded.
With her current projects and the challenges she has overcome, Adah Sharma continues to prove her resilience and passion for acting, marking a significant evolution in her career.
