The film showcases the journey of India won its first gold medal as an independent nation in the 14th Olympic Games in London in 1948. Gold, directed by Rima Kagti, is produced by Riteish Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under the Banner of Excel Entertainment. Akshay Kumar will play the role of Hockey coach Tapan Das. The film also stars TV actress Mouni Roy, who is going to debut with this movie. The film is all set to release on 15th August along with Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se and Satyamev Jayate.
