Denise Richards Suffers Breast Implant Rupture During ‘Special Forces’ Filming
Actress Faces Unexpected Injury Amid Grueling Reality Show Challenges.
Bollywood Mascot: Denise Richards, celebrated for her roles in iconic films like Wild Things and Starship Troopers, recently opened up about a personal health setback she experienced while filming the third season of Fox’s reality series Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test.
The show, which pushes celebrity contestants through military-style challenges, presented Richards with a particularly daunting trial—a high-altitude bridge jump. During the stunt, the harness used for safety caused both of her breast implants to rupture. Speaking about the incident on Jeff Lewis Live, the 53-year-old actress said, “I jumped off a bridge, and the harness just compressed everything, which ended up rupturing my implants.”
Despite the injury, Richards chose to press on with the physically and mentally demanding competition. She revealed that although she needs corrective surgery, filming commitments have postponed the procedure. “I still have to get them redone,” she shared, adding that the cost of the surgery is not covered by insurance. “We pretty much signed our lives away for this show,” she said, jokingly referring to the extreme nature of the challenges and responsibilities participants assume.
The latest season of Special Forces was shot in Wales, where the celebrity participants faced grueling tests, including crossing a ladder suspended between cliffs, freezing water submersion drills, and simulated rescue missions. For Richards, the experience was not only physically challenging but also an emotional test of perseverance.
Richards noted that her daughters—Sami, 20; Lola, 19; and Eloise, 13—were initially uneasy about her participation, fearing for her safety. “They didn’t want me to do it, but I wanted to show them the importance of facing fears,” she said. Richards viewed the competition as an opportunity to demonstrate resilience and courage in the face of adversity.
The new season of Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test premieres on January 8, featuring a star-studded lineup, including Trista Sutter and NFL star Cam Newton. With its blend of intense physical trials and emotional breakthroughs, the show promises to be one of the most compelling reality programs of the year.
Richards’ experience on the show highlights the intense challenges reality television stars often face, both physically and emotionally. Her determination to continue despite her injury is a testament to her strength and commitment to self-improvement.
