Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty and her businessman husband Raj Kundra have been granted significant relief by the Bombay High Court in a money laundering case. The court has put a stay on the eviction notice issued by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) until the couple’s appeal is heard by the appellate tribunal. This development comes as a major reprieve for the couple as they were previously asked to vacate their properties in Mumbai and Pune.

High Court Grants Interim Relief to Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra
In a fresh update regarding the money laundering case involving Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra, the Bombay High Court has provided the duo with interim relief. The couple had approached the court after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) issued notices asking them to vacate their properties. Their farmhouse in Pune was temporarily seized as part of the investigation into the case. However, the court has now instructed that the ED’s eviction notices be put on hold until the tribunal delivers its verdict on the couple’s appeal.
The ED had earlier issued an eviction notice to Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra, asking them to vacate their properties within 10 days. This notice was sent in connection with the ongoing investigation into a money laundering case. In response, the couple filed a petition with the Bombay High Court, seeking a stay on the notice and arguing that it was illegal. A bench of Justice Revati Mohite Dere and Justice PK Chavan heard the matter and allowed the couple to file for a stay.
Lawyer’s Official Statement
Prashant Patil, the lawyer representing Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra, released an official statement addressing the ongoing legal proceedings. He clarified that the couple has no involvement in any Ponzi scheme related to cryptocurrency, as falsely reported by some media outlets. Patil firmly stated, “Mr. Raj Kundra and Mrs. Shilpa Shetty Kundra have no connection whatsoever with the alleged Ponzi scam of 2017.”
Regarding the eviction notice, Patil said, “The honorable High Court has stayed the ED’s eviction notice, giving my clients time to appeal to the appellate tribunal in Delhi for further relief. My clients are committed to cooperating fully with the investigation.”
What’s Next?
As per the High Court’s order, the ED will not enforce the eviction notice until the final decision is made on the appeal. This means that the couple will not be forced to vacate their homes in Mumbai and Pune for the time being. The couple’s legal team is preparing to present their case before the tribunal.
