Not Shaktimaan, Mukesh Khanna Wants Ranveer Singh to Play ‘Tamraj Kilvish’

Mukesh Khanna has been planning a grand film adaptation of his iconic show Shaktimaan for some time now, aiming to bring the beloved superhero to the big screen with a hefty budget and on a large scale. Over the past few months, many Bollywood stars have been speculated for the role of Shaktimaan. However, Khanna recently revealed that he has another role in mind for Bollywood superstar Ranveer Singh.

Khanna, however, recently clarified in an interview with Siddharth Kannan that the meeting was not as the media had reported. “Ranveer came to meet me with love and respect. It was Sony who arranged the meeting, where Ranveer tried to convince me that he could play Shaktimaan,” Khanna shared.

Ranveer Singh Wants Shaktimaan Role, But Khanna Has Other Plans

Despite Ranveer’s earnest attempts, including pleading for the role of Shaktimaan, Khanna didn’t think he was the right fit for the superhero. Instead, Khanna revealed that he would rather cast Ranveer as the iconic villain Tamraj Kilvish. Khanna elaborated, “Ranveer is full of energy, and he spoke to me honestly for three hours. He shared how he got his first break and how he would play Shaktimaan. But honestly, I wanted him to play Tamraj Kilvish instead.”

Khanna continued, saying that Ranveer was very passionate about playing Shaktimaan, and while the meeting ended without a concrete decision, he still felt that the actor would be a better fit for the villain role.

The Future of Shaktimaan’s Big Screen Debut

At this moment, it remains to be seen who will finally step into the role of Shaktimaan. Khanna’s comments suggest that he has a clear vision of who he wants for the iconic character, but only time will tell who will ultimately take on the role of India’s most famous superhero.
