AHIRAAVAN, A Bold New Horror Dramedy to Reimagine Indian Mythology
Ansuman Singh Film Creation (ASFC) unveils its most daring project yet, blending mythology, horror, and dark comedy into a cinematic spectacle.
In a time when Indian cinema is evolving to embrace unconventional narratives, AHIRAAVAN emerges as a genre-defying feature that promises to rewrite the rules. Announced by Ansuman Singh Film Creation, this upcoming Hindi feature film draws from forgotten mythological roots to create a bold, fresh experience — one that merges horror, drama, and dark humour with legendary depth.
Directed by Rajesh R. Nair and produced by Ansuman Singh and Samir Aftab, Ahiraavan dives into the shadowed lore of the lesser-known sibling of Ravana — Ahiraavan. The film asks: What if ancient demons never truly vanished, but simply lay dormant, waiting for the right time to return?
The story sets up a modern-day battleground where darkness rises again, challenging divinity itself. At the heart of the conflict stands Shri Panchmukhi Hanuman, the five-faced embodiment of divine power, summoned to confront a returning evil that threatens the fabric of both past and present.
Set in the Indian heartland, Ahiraavan weaves supernatural suspense with raw cultural resonance. The narrative explores not just mythical terrors, but the inner demons and ancient traumas hidden within modern society. As buried curses resurface, so do long-forgotten fears, rituals, and forgotten gods.
What sets Ahiraavan apart is its unique blend of horror and humour — a dramedy where every scare comes with satire, and every myth is reimagined with emotion and urgency. With screenwriting by Praannath and Rajesh R. Nair, and a powerful concept envisioned by Ansuman Singh, the film aims to deliver not only thrills, but thoughtful introspection.
The film is co-produced by Preeti Shukla, with Madz Movies and Nihal Surve as associate producers. Casting is being helmed by Yash Nagarkoti of Castink, a talent house known for its eye for authenticity and nuance. The official cast will be announced soon.
