Fashion designer, entrepreneur and women’s empowerment advocate Apsara Jaiswal has achieved a new milestone after being crowned Mrs India USA Universe 2027, representing Texas on the Mrs Universe USA platform. Her journey brings together fashion, cultural identity and a commitment to encouraging women to pursue their ambitions.
Based in Dallas–Fort Worth, Apsara is the founder of I Am Apsara by Apsara Jaiswal, a fashion label inspired by Indian ethnic wear, contemporary fusion designs, handloom traditions and bespoke creations. Through her work, she aims to introduce the richness of Indian textiles and traditional craftsmanship to audiences around the world.
Apsara’s professional path has crossed several disciplines. A Certified Cloud Architect, she previously worked in information technology for a financial organisation. She also holds a Master of Arts and a Master of Library Science degree and served for five years as Head Librarian at Rajasthan Dental College. Her move into fashion entrepreneurship reflects her decision to build a career around her creative interests.
Her work has earned recognition at fashion and pageant platforms. She received the Best Designer Award 2026 at Mrs Universe USA/MyDream Global, presented by filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar. At Texas Fashion Week/MyDream Global, she was honoured with the Businesswoman of the Year and Best Designer Award 2026, presented by actress Sunny Leone.
Sunny Leone also appeared as the showstopper for Apsara’s fashion show, I Am Apsara. A key part of Apsara’s design vision is her collaboration with artisans across 20 Indian states. By highlighting regional textiles and handloom techniques, she hopes to support the visibility of traditional craftsmanship and connect heritage-inspired design with contemporary fashion.
Beyond clothing, Apsara has created the I Am Apsara Podcast to share the experiences of everyday women. Her philosophy, expressed through the message “Every woman is an Apsara” and the tagline “Wear Happiness,” centres on confidence, individuality and self-expression. For her, the Mrs India USA Universe 2027 title is an opportunity to carry these ideas to a wider audience while continuing to celebrate Indian culture.
