The film garnered 34.75 crores on the first day (Friday) at the domestic box office. Trade analysts Taran Adarsh reveal Sanju first day box office collection on twitter. Sanju emerges the biggest opener of 2018, beats Salman Khan starrer Race 3, which collects 29 crores on its opening day. The film also placed 5th on the list of the Highest opening of all times, goes past Aamir Khan's Dhoom 3, Salman Khan's Tiger Zinda Hai and Shah Rukh Khan's Chennai Express. Apart from that, Ranbir Kapoor's Sanju has surpassed all his films opening day collections. The film surpasses Ranbir's 2013 release Besharm, which was held the first position with 21.56 crores. Ranbir Kapoor starrer Sanju features Sonam Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Manisha Koirala, Paresh Rawa, Vicky Kaushal and Boman Irani in supporting roles.
