Ajay Devgn’s much-awaited Drishyam 3: The Conclusion is proving that the popularity of the franchise remains extremely strong.
The film, directed by Abhishek Pathak, arrived in cinemas on October 2 and immediately attracted large crowds. Its first-day performance was already being described as one of the biggest openings of Ajay Devgn’s career.
According to early estimates reported after Day 2, the film has gone past the ₹100-crore mark in India in only two days. Sacnilk-based figures cited by NDTV put the Day 2 India net collection at around ₹108.20 crore, with the gross collection estimated at ₹128.92 crore.
Day 1 Was Already a Massive Success
The film had a huge opening on Friday.
According to reports, Drishyam 3 collected around ₹66.75 crore net in India on its first day, while its India gross stood at approximately ₹80.10 crore. With an estimated ₹15 crore from overseas markets, its worldwide opening-day gross reached around ₹95.10 crore.
That meant the film came remarkably close to the ₹100-crore worldwide mark on its opening day itself.
The strong start also gave Ajay Devgn one of the biggest openings of his career.
Saturday Brings Another Huge Jump
Instead of slowing down after the opening day, Drishyam 3 continued to attract audiences on Saturday.
Early estimates from Bollywood Hungama suggested that the film collected around ₹50–51 crore on Day 2 at the Indian box office.
The final figures can change as more theatres report their numbers, but the early trend clearly indicates that the thriller is enjoying strong audience demand.
With Sunday still remaining in the opening weekend, the film has a strong chance of recording an impressive three-day total.
Ajay Devgn Gets His Biggest Opening
One of the biggest achievements of Drishyam 3 is its opening-day performance.
The film has emerged as the highest opener of Ajay Devgn’s career, surpassing the initial-day numbers of his previous releases.
This is particularly significant because Ajay has been part of the Hindi film industry for more than three decades and has delivered several major box-office successes during his career.
The success of Drishyam 3 therefore represents another important milestone for the actor.
The Franchise Has Grown Bigger With Every Film
The Drishyam franchise has witnessed a remarkable increase in popularity.
The first Hindi film, released in 2015, opened with around ₹5.85 crore. Its sequel, Drishyam 2, had a much stronger opening of approximately ₹15.38 crore net.
Now, Drishyam 3 has taken the franchise to an entirely different level with its opening of more than ₹60 crore net.
The numbers underline how much the audience's interest in Vijay Salgaonkar’s story has grown over the years.
Ajay Devgn Returns as Vijay Salgaonkar
Ajay Devgn once again plays Vijay Salgaonkar, the ordinary family man whose extraordinary ability to protect his family has made him one of the most memorable characters in recent Hindi cinema.
The third instalment also features Tabu, Shriya Saran, Rajat Kapoor and Jaideep Ahlawat in key roles.
The film is being positioned as the concluding chapter of the Hindi Drishyam story, making its theatrical performance particularly important for fans who have followed the franchise since 2015.
Can Drishyam 3 Continue Its Winning Run?
The biggest question now is whether Drishyam 3 can maintain its momentum after the opening weekend.
A strong Saturday combined with positive audience response has created an excellent foundation for the film. If the movie manages to hold well during the weekdays, it could potentially turn its ₹100-crore milestone into a much larger theatrical success.
