Swara Bhasker has once again spoken openly about the criticism and trolling she has faced over her personal life, marriage and appearance. During a recent podcast conversation, the actress addressed the constant comments about her body and revealed why she has stopped allowing social media opinions to dictate how she looks or lives.

Swara, who is married to actor and social activist Fahad Ahmad, said that public figures, particularly women, are often judged relentlessly for their appearance. She also recalled the trolling she experienced after becoming a mother and said she has now learned to accept herself without worrying about online criticism.
Swara Bhasker Says Her Life Is Not For Other People's Approval
Talking about body-shaming, Swara questioned why people feel entitled to comment on another person's weight or appearance.
She explained that if someone wants to look at glamorous or conventionally attractive women, there are plenty of places on social media where they can do so. She made it clear that her own life is not designed around satisfying the expectations of people watching her online.
The actress also said that she has received plenty of abusive comments over the years and has become accustomed to dealing with online trolling.
Post-Pregnancy Body Became A Target
Swara also addressed comments about the changes in her body after giving birth to her daughter.
She pointed out that a woman's body naturally changes after pregnancy and childbirth. According to her, expecting women to maintain exactly the same appearance throughout their lives creates unnecessary pressure.
She acknowledged that people in the entertainment industry often turn to cosmetic procedures, Botox, injections and plastic surgery to maintain a particular appearance, but said that personal choices about one's body should not become a reason for others to judge or shame someone.
Trolls Also Targeted Her For Her Marriage
The actress revealed that her marriage has also been a frequent subject of online trolling.
Swara married Fahad Ahmad in 2023, and according to her, some social media users connected changes in her appearance and weight to her marriage. She recalled facing comments suggesting that she had become "fat" or unattractive after marrying a Muslim man.
She also remembered an incident when she attended a campaign with her husband without makeup. A photograph from the event was subsequently shared on social media, and she said the image continued to attract negative comments.
Swara Says She Will Accept Herself As She Is
Rather than trying to satisfy online critics, Swara now says she is comfortable with her appearance.
The actress made it clear that she does not intend to put herself under pressure to lose weight simply because strangers on social media expect her to look a certain way. Her message was particularly focused on the pressure faced by women in public life to remain youthful, slim and conventionally attractive.
She believes women should be allowed to grow older and experience changes in their bodies without constantly being made to feel inadequate.
Why Swara's Comments Are Getting Attention
Swara Bhasker has often been outspoken about social issues and her personal experiences. Her latest comments have once again brought attention to the way celebrities are scrutinised on social media.
While actors and other public figures are accustomed to public attention, Swara's comments highlight how criticism can extend beyond professional work and enter deeply personal areas such as marriage, motherhood, weight and appearance.
Her latest stance is clear: she does not want to change herself simply to meet someone else's definition of beauty.
For Swara, accepting her changing body and living life on her own terms has become more important than winning approval from online trolls.
