In the 90s and early 2000s, no other actor could match Govinda’s stardom. Be it his acting or dancing, not only the audience but even fellow superstars couldn’t stop praising him. Despite his fame, Govinda only had a few close friendships in the film industry.

One of Govinda’s closest friends is Bollywood’s Bhai, Salman Khan. Their friendship has stood the test of time, and the duo even worked together in the hit film Partner, where their chemistry was highly appreciated by fans.

In an old interview, Salman Khan revealed that there was a time when he felt small in front of Govinda, even though Salman himself was a big star.

The Moment Govinda Held Salman’s Hand

In 2019, during his appearance on Koffee with Karan, Salman Khan shared a story about his first meeting with Govinda. The actor also mentioned that after Mithun Chakraborty, Govinda was the next rising star he was truly a fan of.

Salman recalled that during his modeling days, he spotted Govinda at a studio. Govinda, the Raja Babu star, was dressed in a white t-shirt and pants. Salman complimented him, and in response, Govinda grabbed his hand.

Salman said, “He held my hand and kept saying ‘Thank you, sir, thank you, sir’ over and over again.” Salman confessed that he felt small at that moment because such a huge superstar was thanking him repeatedly for a simple compliment.

Salman Khan Words About Govinda’s Humility

Praising Govinda’s character, Salman Khan told Karan Johar, “I was deeply impressed by his humility. He set an example for everyone on how to treat people, even when you’re at the peak of your career.”

It’s worth mentioning that Govinda’s 2007 film Partner was expected to relaunch his career, but unfortunately, it didn’t happen as fans had hoped. Nevertheless, audiences are still eagerly waiting to see Govinda shine on the big screen once again.
