Ram Charan Movie Peddi Continues To Rule Netflix More Than A Month Later

Ram Charan's Peddi continues to attract viewers on Netflix more than a month after its digital release, with the sports-action drama maintaining strong interest among audiences.

Bollywood Mascot: Ram Charan's Peddi is refusing to disappear from the OTT spotlight. More than a month after arriving on Netflix, the sports-action drama continues to attract viewers and remain a talking point among audiences. The film's combination of sports, action, emotion and a powerful underdog story appears to have helped it maintain its appeal beyond its theatrical run.

Directed and written by Buchi Babu Sana, Peddi stars Ram Charan in the lead role alongside Janhvi Kapoor, Shiva Rajkumar and Jagapathi Babu. The film also features music by Oscar-winning composer A.R. Rahman, adding another major attraction to the project.

At the centre of Peddi is a young man from a village who dreams of making a name for himself through sport. His journey isn't straightforward, as he has to deal with difficult circumstances, personal challenges and battles for identity and respect. The story combines his sporting ambitions with action and emotional drama.

What makes the film particularly interesting on OTT is that Peddi isn't restricted to being a conventional sports movie. Ram Charan's character is fighting for much more than victory on the field. His struggle for his village, his identity and his dignity gives the film a broader emotional layer.

The film's Hindi version arrived on Netflix on July 9, 2026, following its theatrical release. Even after more than a month on the streaming platform, Peddi has continued to find an audience, showing that viewers are still discovering and revisiting the film.

Netflix's own listing describes Peddi as a drama centred on a labourer from a village that is not officially recognised, whose extraordinary athletic ability becomes a weapon in his fight for his people's rights. The platform lists Ram Charan, Janhvi Kapoor and Shiva Rajkumar among its principal cast.

Ram Charan's performance is naturally one of the biggest talking points. The actor underwent a rugged transformation for the role and plays a character considerably removed from the polished image often associated with mainstream Telugu cinema. His physicality and intensity are central to the film's appeal.

The film's continued OTT visibility is also notable because its theatrical journey and digital performance have created two different conversations around it. While the theatrical business generated considerable attention, its availability on Netflix has allowed Peddi to reach audiences who may have missed it in cinemas.

Earlier Netflix rankings showed Peddi making the platform's Global Top 10 Non-English Films chart after its streaming debut. It recorded 1.9 million views in its first four days and ranked fifth on that chart at the time.

Now, with the film continuing to attract attention well beyond its first few weeks, Peddi appears to have found a second life on streaming.

For fans of sports dramas, action-packed stories and emotional underdog journeys, the film offers a combination of all three. Its extended runtime of around 3 hours and 5 minutes may seem intimidating to some viewers, but the story's mix of sports, conflict and emotion gives audiences plenty to engage with.

With Ram Charan leading the film, Janhvi Kapoor adding to the cast and A.R. Rahman's music strengthening its cinematic scale, Peddi has managed to remain relevant even after leaving theatres.

More than a month after its Netflix premiere, the real test is no longer whether Peddi can attract opening-weekend attention—it is whether audiences are still pressing play. And the answer appears to be yes.
