Parineeti Chooses Chamkila Over Animal
Parineeti shared that she was initially committed to Animal, and everything was set for her involvement in the film. However, during the same period, she received an offer for the film Chamkila, directed by Imtiaz Ali. Parineeti revealed that the shooting dates for both films clashed, and after careful consideration, she decided to go with Chamkila, a film she felt a deep connection with.
“I don’t regret losing the role in Animal. Honestly, I think God had something better in store for me. When the offer for Chamkila came, I knew it was the right choice,” Parineeti said. She also shared that Chamkila provided her the opportunity to work on a dream project with director Imtiaz Ali and collaborate with legendary music composer A.R. Rahman.
Gratitude for the Opportunity and Support
The actress expressed how grateful she is for the love and respect she received for her role in Chamkila. “I believe the recognition, support, and respect I’ve received from this film have been amazing, and I have no regrets at all. I’m truly happy with my choice,” she added.
Her husband, Raghav Chadha, also shared his thoughts, mentioning how Chamkila strengthened their relationship. “When Parineeti returned to India for the film’s shoot, she came directly to Punjab, which gave us a lot of time together. Our bond grew stronger, and visiting Gurudwara Chamkaur Sahib together made our connection even deeper,” Raghav stated.
Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Take on Parineeti’s Exit from Animal
Interestingly, while Parineeti has no regrets about her decision, Animal director Sandeep Reddy Vanga had previously stated that it wasn’t her choice to leave the film. In an interview with Komal Nahta, Vanga explained that while he initially had Parineeti in mind for the role, he later felt that she wasn’t the right fit for the character of Geetanjali. Vanga admitted that he had to replace her just days before the shoot, which led him to personally apologize to the actress.
“I’ve always admired Parineeti as an actor, and I had cast her well in advance. However, as the shoot approached, I felt she wasn’t the right fit for the character. Some roles just don’t suit certain actors, and I decided to replace her. I apologized to her for this decision,” Vanga said.
The Success of Animal and Chamkila
Both Animal and Chamkila have found success, but in different ways. Animal, starring Ranbir Kapoor, released on December 1, 2023, and went on to become a box office hit. On the other hand, Chamkila, in which Parineeti co-stars with singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh, had a successful digital release this year, garnering praise for its music and performances.
Parineeti’s decision to leave Animal in favor of Chamkila shows how the actress prioritizes her passion for specific projects, and her belief in destiny guiding her to the right opportunities. As she continues to make bold career choices, fans are eagerly awaiting her upcoming roles and the stories she chooses to tell on screen.
