Nawazuddin Siddiqui on Big-Budget Films: “They Only Offer Money, Not Always Quality”

Renowned actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui has expressed his thoughts on big-budget films, stating that they often provide financial rewards but don’t always guarantee a strong storyline or a remarkable role. He believes that just because a movie is backed by a major production house or has a hefty budget doesn’t necessarily mean that the film’s story will be compelling or that the characters will be memorable. According to Nawazuddin, this is a rare occurrence in Bollywood, unlike Hollywood, where big-budget films are often associated with high-quality content.

Nawazuddin further explained that big-budget films naturally attract actors due to their extensive promotional campaigns, which are designed to reach a wide audience. However, he personally doesn’t rely solely on the size of a film’s budget. Instead, he prefers to collaborate with new directors and producers, finding more value in creative exploration than in the financial allure of major productions.

While acknowledging that big-budget films can sometimes produce excellent results—citing examples like “Oppenheimer” and Bollywood’s “Bajrangi Bhaijaan”—Nawazuddin emphasized that not every high-budget film meets these standards. He stressed the importance of not choosing projects solely based on their budget, as a substantial amount of money doesn’t always ensure a good story or exceptional performances.

Nawazuddin’s approach to cinema reflects his commitment to quality over quantity. He remains focused on working with fresh talent, believing that new directors and producers often bring unique perspectives and innovative ideas to the table, which align with his artistic values.
