Nawazuddin Siddiqui Dives into Action in Goa for His Latest Film Based on Custom Officer Costao Fernandes
Renowned actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui is currently engrossed in shooting for his upcoming film, centering on the life of Customs Officer Costao Fernandes, in Goa. The movie, titled ‘Costao,’ delves into the journey of Costao, who commenced his professional venture with the Goa Customs in 1979, as confirmed by the official website of the Customs Department.
This marks Siddiqui’s fourth portrayal of a real-life persona, following recent news of his signing for the role based on Costao Fernandes’ life. Notably, Nawazuddin Siddiqui came into the limelight in 1991 when he brought to light a case involving large-scale gold smuggling against former Goa Chief Minister Churchill Alemao and his brothers. The film, under Sejal Shah’s direction, initially commenced shooting in Mumbai on October 26.
The initial schedule saw Nawazuddin Siddiqui and co-star Priya Bapat filming some dramatic sequences. Currently, Siddiqui is immersed in action-oriented scenes as the shooting enters another phase. The movie’s team is conducting the second schedule, focusing on Goa, capturing intense action and chase sequences featuring Siddiqui.
Scheduled to shoot in Goa until the end of December, the team will later conclude the final schedule in Mumbai. This marks Siddiqui’s fourth film portraying real-life individuals or characters inspired by them. Previously, he showcased his talent in roles in films like ‘Manjhi,’ ‘Manto,’ and ‘Thackeray.’ Apart from these, Siddiqui has been a part of critically acclaimed movies such as ‘Section 108’ and ‘An Ordinary Life.’
