Karan Johar last directed Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai starrer Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, which was clashed with Ajay Devgn starrer Shivay on Diwali 2016. Apart from Takht, Karan Johar is all set to producing films like Simmba, Kesari, Student Of The Year 2, Kalank, Brahmastra and Ranbhoomi under the Dharma Productions banner. Takht is based on Mughal Dynasty. The film's screenplay has been written by Sumit Roy, while dialogues are written by Hussain Haidry and Sumit Roy.
