Kangana Ranaut, known for her bold statements and outspoken nature, has recently criticized Alia Bhatt’s latest release, “Jigra.” The film has struggled to make a significant impact at the box office, earning lower collections on its opening day compared to Rajkummar Rao’s “Vicky Vidya.”

Alia Bhatt’s ‘Jigra’ Struggles

“Jigra,” featuring Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina, premiered on October 11 but failed to generate impressive earnings on its debut. Following the disappointing numbers, Kangana took to her Instagram stories to share her thoughts. While she did not mention anyone by name, her post seemed directed at the female-led film, suggesting that the issues surrounding such movies are often self-inflicted.

In her post, Kangana stated, “When you ruin woman-centric films and ensure they don’t earn, they won’t.” This comment has been interpreted as a veiled reference to “Jigra,” given the timing and context of her message.

The Box Office Clash

The release of “Jigra” coincided with Rajkummar Rao and Tripti Dimri’s “Vicky Vidya,” a comedy-drama that seems to have capitalized on the festive season. According to reports from Sacnilk, “Jigra” managed to collect approximately ₹4.25 crores on its opening day, while “Vicky Vidya” garnered around ₹5 crores.

As the box office competition heats up, Kangana’s comments highlight the ongoing challenges faced by female-led films in a competitive landscape. With mixed reviews and varied audience reception, the future of “Jigra” remains uncertain, prompting discussions on the broader implications for woman-centric cinema in Bollywood.
