Daayra vs Vibe Box Office Day 2: Kunal Kemmu’s Film Beats Kareena Kapoor’s Daayra

The box-office clash between Kareena Kapoor’s Daayra and Kunal Kemmu’s Vibe took an interesting turn on Day 2. While both films recorded growth on Saturday, Vibe pulled ahead with a higher collection, taking its two-day total to Rs 4.35 crore, compared with Daayra’s Rs 2.60 crore.

The box office witnessed an interesting clash between Daayra and Vibe over the weekend. Both films arrived in cinemas on September 18, but Kunal Kemmu’s action-comedy managed to stay ahead of Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran’s crime thriller on the second day.

According to the latest figures reported by Sacnilk and cited by ABP Live, Vibe collected around Rs 2.65 crore net in India on Saturday, while Daayra earned approximately Rs 1.60 crore. With this, Vibe’s two-day total reached Rs 4.35 crore, whereas Daayra stood at Rs 2.60 crore.

Vibe Takes the Lead on Day 2

Kunal Kemmu’s Vibe recorded a noticeable jump on its second day. The film earned Rs 2.65 crore net on Saturday after collecting around Rs 1.70 crore on its opening day.

The film recorded around 21 per cent overall occupancy on Day 2 across 2,979 shows. Its stronger Saturday performance helped it widen the gap against Daayra.

With Rs 4.35 crore in two days, Vibe has shown better growth during its opening weekend compared with its Friday performance.

Daayra Sees Growth But Remains Behind

Meghna Gulzar’s Daayra, starring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran, also witnessed an improvement on Saturday. The film collected around Rs 1.60 crore on Day 2, taking its two-day net total to approximately Rs 2.60 crore.

The film recorded around 18 per cent occupancy on Saturday, according to the figures cited by ABP Live.

Although the film improved compared with its opening day, its second-day collection remained below Vibe’s numbers.

Kunal Kemmu Returns as Director

Vibe marks Kunal Kemmu’s return to the director’s chair after Madgaon Express. The film combines action, adventure and comedy and features Kunal alongside Preity Zinta, Sparsh Shrivastava and other actors.

The story revolves around two friends who find themselves caught in a dangerous situation. The film uses comedy and action as its primary elements.

Kunal’s previous directorial venture, Madgaon Express, received attention for its comedy, and Vibe continues his work behind the camera.

Kareena Kapoor Leads Daayra

Daayra, meanwhile, is directed by Meghna Gulzar and features Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead roles.

The crime thriller explores a serious subject and is inspired by true events. Kareena plays DCP Ajooni, while Prithviraj portrays DCP Rama.

The film also features actors including Kanwaljit Singh, Anuja Sathe, Seema Azmi, Biswapati Sarkar, Jitendra Joshi and Upendra Chauhan.

Weekend Performance Will Be Crucial

With Sunday still remaining in the opening weekend, both Daayra and Vibe have an opportunity to improve their overall numbers.

Vibe has established a lead after two days, while Daayra has shown some growth from Friday to Saturday. The performance on Sunday, followed by the crucial Monday test, will provide a clearer picture of how both films are performing theatrically.

For now, the Daayra vs Vibe box-office battle has tilted in favour of Kunal Kemmu’s film, which has collected significantly more during its first two days.
