Sonakshi played the female lead, Jiya, opposite Ajay’s character, Rajveer Singh. However, reports now indicate that Sonakshi Sinha will not be reprising her role in the sequel.
According to a recent report by Zoom TV, Sonakshi Sinha has been replaced by Mrunal Thakur for the role of the female lead in “Son of Sardaar 2.” The sequel, which has been in the pipeline for some time, is set to start shooting in June. The film is currently in the post-production stage, with plans for a 2025 release. The storyline for the sequel remains under wraps, but it is expected to be an action-comedy on a grander scale than its predecessor.
Ajay Devgn, who played Rajveer Singh in the first film, is gearing up to start shooting for “Son of Sardaar 2” next month. He is also busy with other projects, including the shoot for “De De Pyaar De 2,” starting this week. Devgn’s upcoming releases include “Aurono Mein Kahaan Dum Tha,” “Raid 2,” and “Singham Again,” promising an action-packed year for his fans.
As for Sonakshi Sinha, she has also had a busy year with two major releases. She starred in Akshay Kumar’s “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan,” which unfortunately did not perform well at the box office. However, her role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s web series “Heeramandi” received a mixed response.
