Ajay Devgn and Shilpa Shirodkar’s Unseen Collaboration: The Film That Never Released

Ajay Devgn, a renowned action star of Bollywood, and Shilpa Shirodkar, who has shared the screen with several legends, were supposed to star together in a film over three decades ago. However, the movie never saw the light of day, thanks to an unexpected connection with the tragic 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts.

Ajay, who debuted in 1991 with the blockbuster Phool Aur Kaante, became an instant sensation, leading to a flood of film offers. One of those projects was titled Singer, in which Shilpa Shirodkar was cast opposite him. But the project, despite its promising premise, was abruptly shelved and never made it to theatres.

Singer: The Film That Was Never Released

Planned for release in 1993, Singer was directed by Sunil Agnihotri, featuring a talented cast including Nagma, Pankaj Berry, Anand Balraj, Kader Khan, and Rami Reddy. With music composed by the legendary duo Nadeem-Shravan, the film had all the elements to become a hit. Ajay Devgn was even slated to play a double role in this project, a Hindi adaptation of Disney’s Double Switch.

However, the production faced an unexpected hurdle. The film’s producers, Sameer and Hanif, were implicated in the Mumbai bomb blasts case. Legal troubles caused by their involvement led several films to halt production, and Singer was among the unfortunate projects that were either abandoned mid-way or never released in theatres.

Ajay Devgn’s Double Role That Never Happened

According to IMDb, Singer would have showcased Ajay Devgn in a double role, adding to the excitement for his fans. The movie could have been a pivotal moment in his early career, but the controversy surrounding the 1993 blasts buried the project forever.

Despite this setback from years ago, Ajay Devgn continues to dominate Bollywood. He will next be seen roaring back as Bajirao Singham in Singham Again, directed by Rohit Shetty. Set for a grand Diwali release on November 1, the film promises to deliver the action-packed drama fans expect. In addition to this, Ajay has several sequels in the pipeline, including Raid 2, De De Pyaar De 2, and Son of Sardaar 2.
