Television actress Hina Khan recently opened up about her first trip to Ladakh and revealed that the experience was far more challenging than she had expected.
Sharing pictures and memories from the journey, Hina described Ladakh as “truly a test of endurance.” According to the actress, the high-altitude destination gave her a completely different perspective on life and made her realise how important it is to slow down and respect nature.
While the scenic beauty of Ladakh made a lasting impression on her, the trip also came with several physical challenges.
Hina Khan Suffered Nosebleeds Every Day
The most surprising revelation from Hina’s travel experience was that she suffered nosebleeds throughout her stay in Ladakh.
The actress explained that the thin and dry air affected her nasal passages. She said that she experienced bleeding from her nose every day until she returned home.
Hina attributed the problem to clot formation in her nasal passage and highlighted how different the climate can be at high altitudes compared with normal surroundings.
Her experience has also prompted her to share practical advice for people planning similar trips.
She Stressed the Importance of Acclimatisation
According to Hina, proper acclimatisation is one of the most important things travellers should keep in mind while visiting high-altitude destinations.
She said that her group took appropriate precautions and, thankfully, none of them experienced high-altitude sickness or needed oxygen during the trip.
Hina nevertheless suggested that travellers prepare themselves properly before heading into remote high-altitude regions. She also mentioned carrying an oxygen backup as a precaution for such journeys.
Hina Shares Her Ladakh Travel Essentials
Along with describing her own experience, Hina Khan shared a detailed list of things she believes travellers should carry while visiting Ladakh.
She highlighted the importance of proper clothing and layering because temperatures can change dramatically in the region. She also mentioned carrying a pulse oximeter and digital thermometer.
For the dry conditions, Hina recommended carrying saline nasal sprays and nasal moisturisers, gels or suitable oils to help protect and soothe the nasal passages.
Her recommendations came directly from her own experience of dealing with the extremely dry air during the trip.
From Sunglasses to Hygiene Essentials
Hina’s list went beyond medicines and high-altitude precautions.
For long road journeys, she suggested carrying basic hygiene supplies such as pocket tissues, hand sanitiser, toilet-seat sanitiser and toilet-seat covers. These items can be particularly useful when travelling through remote areas where access to facilities may be limited.
She also recommended Category 4 sunglasses to protect the eyes, along with a neck gaiter for protection from dust.
Other items on her list included a long-lasting power bank and a portable nebuliser for travellers who require respiratory medication.
Hina Khan Says Ladakh Changed Her Perspective
Despite the difficulties, Hina Khan appears to have come away from the trip with a positive and meaningful experience.
She explained that Ladakh’s mountains made her realise how insignificant humans can feel in front of nature. According to her, the landscape gives people little choice but to slow down and observe their surroundings.
For Hina, the trip was therefore more than simply a holiday. It became an experience that tested her physically while also giving her a new perspective on life.
A Journey That Taught Her About Preparation
Hina Khan’s Ladakh trip highlights how beautiful high-altitude destinations can also demand careful preparation.
Her experience with daily nosebleeds showed her how strongly the region’s dry air affected her, while her emphasis on acclimatisation and essential travel supplies underlined the importance of being prepared.
The actress has now shared those lessons with her followers, encouraging travellers to understand the conditions before embarking on a Ladakh adventure.
