Television actress Dipika Kakar has opened up about her comeback plans and explained why returning to a daily soap is currently difficult for her. Known for shows such as Sasural Simar Ka and Kahaan Hum Kahaan Tum, the actress said the long working hours involved in daily television do not suit her current situation.
Dipika has, however, taken a small step back towards work by shooting a music video with her husband, Shoaib Ibrahim.
1. Daily Soap Schedule Is Difficult
Dipika explained that she cannot currently commit to the demanding schedule of a daily television show. Long shooting hours would be difficult while she continues her treatment.
The actress questioned why a producer would cast her for a demanding project while she is still dealing with the effects of her treatment.
2. Dipika Has Returned With A Music Video
Although a daily soap is not possible for now, Dipika has not completely stepped away from work. She recently shot a music video with Shoaib Ibrahim.
The shorter shooting schedule allowed her to return to performing without taking on the long-term commitment of a daily serial.
3. Dipika Is Taking Her Comeback Slowly
Dipika has also returned to dance after a considerable gap. During rehearsals, she reportedly needed frequent breaks, making her realise that her stamina had changed during her treatment.
Despite the challenges, she continued with the project and completed the shoot.
Dipika Kakar And Shoaib Ibrahim Together Again
The music video marks another professional collaboration between Dipika and Shoaib. The couple first became close while working together on Sasural Simar Ka and later got married.
Their latest project gives Dipika an opportunity to return to the screen while keeping her professional commitment manageable.
Dipika Kakar’s Television Journey
Dipika became a household name as Simar in Sasural Simar Ka. She later starred in Kahaan Hum Kahaan Tum and participated in Bigg Boss 12, which she won.
She was also seen in Celebrity MasterChef 2025 but had to leave the show midway due to health-related issues.
Will Dipika Return To Daily Television?
Dipika has not completely ruled out returning to television. Her latest comments suggest that the timing and nature of the project will be important.
For now, she appears more comfortable taking up shorter assignments rather than committing to the demanding schedule of a daily soap.
Her music video with Shoaib could therefore mark the beginning of a gradual professional comeback.
