Story
The film set in the 1980’s in Gujarat. Raees (Shahrukh Khan) belongs to a low-income family, his only rule, “Koi Dhanda Chota Nai Hota, Aur Dhande Se Bada Koi Dharam Nai Hota, Jesse Kisika Bura Na Ho.” Raees starts working under liquor smuggler (Atul Kulkarni), where he helps alcohol smugglers, store it in warehouses and later sell the stock illegally to local vendors. Later he decides to start his own bootlegging business. His Dimag and Daring help him to make it to the big league. Then the story takes several turns, Raees Business success caught by SP Jaideep Mazumdar Ambalal (Nawazuddin Siddiqui), who is a strict police officer. And later cat and mouse chase between the two begins. Will Majmudar be able to Catch Raees?
Acting
Shahrukh and Nawazuddin carry the movie on their shoulders with their excellent dialogues delivery and performances. Pakistani actress Mahira Khan does not have much to do with the film. The film’s main disadvantages are its dull tone and unrealistic scenes that make it a decent hero-centric commercial flick.
