Maidaan Box Office Collection Day 1: Ajay Devgn Football Biopic Off to a Steady Start
Maidaan Box Office Collection Day 1: Ajay Devgn’s much-anticipated film ‘Maidaan’ finally hit the screens this Eid after years of waiting. The film, a biopic on the legendary football coach Syed Abdul Rahim, has garnered attention with its intriguing trailers.
Despite the high expectations, ‘Maidaan’ opened to a moderate start at the box office. Early estimates suggest that the film has grossed between Rs. 6 to Rs. 8 crores on its opening day. However, these figures are preliminary, and the exact numbers will be clearer by tomorrow.
In comparison to other releases, ‘Maidaan’ trails behind Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff’s action-packed ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan,’ which earned Rs. 10 crores on its opening day. The film is directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma, known for ‘Badhaai Ho,’ and stars Priyamani, Gajraj Rao, and renowned Bengali actor Rudranil Ghosh alongside Ajay Devgn.
The film’s trailer, launched recently with the entire ‘Maidaan’ team, created a buzz, showcasing glimpses of Syed Abdul Rahim’s incredible journey and receiving a warm reception from the audience.
Syed Abdul Rahim, who left an indelible mark on Indian football history, is still remembered six decades later. Despite football being the most played sport globally, Rahim’s contributions are celebrated, making ‘Maidaan’ a fitting tribute to the unsung hero.
Produced by Zee Studios, Boney Kapoor, Arunava Joy Sengupta, and Akash Chawla, the film boasts of dialogues penned by Saiwyn Quadras and Ritesh Shah. The music, composed by A.R. Rahman, features lyrics by Manoj Muntashir.
Prior to ‘Maidaan,’ Ajay Devgn was last seen in the film ‘Shaitan,’ which also made waves at the box office. With ‘Maidaan,’ the actor ventures into a different genre, aiming to capture the essence of a compelling real-life story.
Stay tuned for more updates on ‘Maidaan’s’ box office performance and audience reactions as the weekend unfolds.
