Haiwaan Box Office Day 3: Akshay-Saif Film Struggles to Gain Momentum

Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan’s Haiwaan struggled to gain momentum during its opening weekend. The Priyadarshan-directed film earned ₹1.85 crore on Day 3, taking its India net collection to ₹7.35 crore.

Haiwaan has completed its opening weekend on a rather subdued note at the box office. The action-crime thriller, starring Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan, recorded a decline in its collection on the third day despite the weekend factor.

According to the latest trade figures, the film earned around ₹1.85 crore net in India on Day 3, taking its three-day domestic collection to approximately ₹7.35 crore. The film had opened with ₹3 crore on Friday and collected ₹2.50 crore on Saturday.

Haiwaan Day 3 Box Office Collection

The film witnessed a drop of around 26% on Sunday compared with its Saturday earnings. With ₹1.85 crore coming in on the third day, Haiwaan has struggled to generate the kind of momentum expected from a film featuring two established Bollywood stars.

Its India gross collection after three days stands at around ₹8.80 crore, while the film has also earned from overseas markets.

Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan Reunite After Years

Haiwaan marks the reunion of Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan after a long gap. The film is directed by Priyadarshan and is a Hindi adaptation of the director's Malayalam thriller Oppam.

Saif plays Shyam Rane, a visually impaired man who becomes involved in a murder investigation, while Akshay Kumar portrays the antagonist, a ruthless killer. The film also features Boman Irani, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Saiyami Kher and Sharib Hashmi in important roles.

Haiwaan Faces Tough Competition

One of the major challenges for Haiwaan is the strong competition at the box office. The film is running alongside Mirzapur The Movie and Hanuman Ansh, both of which have been attracting considerable audience attention.

The competition for screens and viewers has made it difficult for Haiwaan to build momentum despite its star cast and Priyadarshan's reputation.

Will Haiwaan Recover on Weekdays?

The film's performance during the coming weekdays will be crucial. After collecting ₹7.35 crore in its first three days, Haiwaan will need to maintain steady collections to extend its theatrical run.

A strong word-of-mouth response could still help the film improve its numbers, but the slow opening weekend has made the road ahead challenging.
