On Sunday morning at 9 AM, Yamini’s body will be brought to her institute, the Yamini School of Dance, where celebrities and fans can pay their last respects. Details about her funeral have not yet been disclosed.

Honored with Prestigious Awards

Born in Madanapalle, Andhra Pradesh, and raised in Chidambaram, Tamil Nadu, Yamini Krishnamurthy started her dance career in 1957. From a young age, she showed a keen interest in dance, and as soon as she began her career, she became a prominent figure in the dance community.

Yamini was known as a torchbearer in the Kuchipudi dance style. Over the years, she received numerous accolades, including the Padma Shri in 1968, the Padma Bhushan in 2001, and the Padma Vibhushan in 2016. She ran the Yamini School of Dance, nurturing future generations of dancers.
