Although though Nayantara now collaborates with Shahrukh, there was a period when she vehemently refused to appear in the Shahrukh film Chennai Express. According to rumours, Nayantara received the Meenamma role in “Chennai Express” before Deepika. Nayantara, however, resisted doing it. Nayanthara allegedly declined the part due to Prabhu Deva, who was in charge of choreographing the songs for the movie.
