Triptii Dimri Reflects on Her Journey Post Laila Majnu and the Affection from Kashmir

Dimri recalled her initial expectations and the reality she faced: “When Laila Majnu came out, I was hopeful it would be a big hit. I was new to the industry and thought this film would make me a star overnight. I imagined it would be difficult to step out of my house without being recognized. But things didn’t turn out that way; the film didn’t perform well at the box office. However, the love it received on OTT platforms was incredible. Even now, not a day goes by without me receiving messages about the film, or encountering someone who brings up Laila Majnu. That, to me, is the true measure of a film’s success.”

Affection from Kashmir

Dimri also revealed that the affection for her role in Laila Majnu extends to Kashmir, where the film was shot. She shared that people in Kashmir still refer to her as “Laila,” reflecting the lasting impact of her performance. “Whenever I visit Kashmir, people still call me Laila. The film was shot in Jammu and Kashmir, and I’m happy that people still connect so deeply with that character. For me, this connection is more significant than box office numbers,” she said.

Current and Future Projects

Despite the slow start, Dimri has carved out a prominent place in the industry. She is now one of the most sought-after actresses, and her upcoming projects are highly anticipated. Following her role in Bad News, Dimri is set to appear alongside Rajkummar Rao in the film Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video.
