Zakir encouraged Sunny to share stories from his early screen testing days. Sunny recalled how he and his brother Vicky Kaushal, along with their friends, would attend multiple auditions in a single day. They had a close-knit group where they kept each other informed about ongoing auditions. Sunny shared an amusing incident, saying, "We used to barge into any audition we found. If we saw a notice saying, ‘Auditions Open, Males 22-25,’ we would just walk in. Once, we were out all day and decided to give at least one audition before heading home. We saw an audition happening for a Bhojpuri film, opened the door, and asked if we were fit for the role. They said, ‘All three of you are fit, come in.’ We auditioned, got rejected on the spot, and then left."
