Sudhir Dalvi Was Hospitalised With Severe Sepsis

Sudhir Dalvi was admitted to Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital on October 7, 2025, after developing severe sepsis. His condition was serious enough to require treatment in the ICU.

The illness affected his joints and mobility, making it difficult for him to move his limbs. He remained in the hospital for almost a month before eventually returning home.

While his health was the family's biggest concern, the prolonged hospital stay also resulted in mounting medical expenses. Reports stated that the bill had crossed ₹19 lakh, putting considerable financial pressure on the family.

Akshay, Ranbir and Kartik Came Forward to Help

According to Sudhir Dalvi's wife, the family received support from several quarters when news of their financial difficulties became public.

Kartik Aaryan, Ranbir Kapoor and Akshay Kumar were among the Bollywood celebrities who came forward to provide financial assistance. Suhas said that many others from the film industry and outside it also helped the family during the difficult period.

The family also received support from Sai devotees, many of whom remembered Dalvi for his memorable portrayal of Sai Baba.

In December 2025, the Bombay High Court had also permitted the Shree Saibaba Sansthan Trust to contribute ₹11 lakh towards the actor's medical treatment.

Sudhir Dalvi Is Now Back Home

The biggest relief for fans is that Sudhir Dalvi has now returned home and is continuing his recovery.

His wife revealed that the actor can currently walk with the help of a walker. She also said that he remains somewhat disoriented, but is happy to be back home.

For the family, returning home has been an emotional relief after the difficult hospital stay.

Suhas also explained that the hospital environment itself had become intimidating for the actor, apart from the financial pressure created by the treatment.

Family Now Asks for Prayers, Not Money

With Sudhir Dalvi now receiving the medical care he needs at home, his family has said that further financial assistance is not necessary.

Suhas expressed gratitude to the film fraternity and others who supported them but requested that organisations currently sending financial assistance consider helping someone else who may need it more.

According to her, Sudhir's recovery is slow and what he needs most now is prayers and continued care.

The Actor's Iconic Sai Baba Role

Sudhir Dalvi's portrayal of Sai Baba in Shirdi Ke Sai Baba remains the role for which he is best remembered. The 1977 film made a lasting impression on audiences, and his performance became closely associated with the character.

Years after the film's release, the affection surrounding that performance was once again visible during his health crisis, when Sai devotees and members of the film fraternity came together to support him.

For now, fans will be hoping that the veteran actor continues to regain his strength and makes a steady recovery at home.
