September 21 to 27, 2026, is shaping up to be an interesting week for fans of South Indian cinema. Several films across Kannada, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam are arriving on streaming platforms, while a few major titles are also reaching theatres.
The latest lineup includes action dramas, supernatural thrillers, emotional stories and period dramas. On the OTT side, Mango Pachcha, Agadha, Habeebi and Angikaaram are scheduled to stream from September 25. Meanwhile, The Paradise, Dorothy and Aaram are among the theatrical releases this week.
Mango Pachcha Arrives On JioHotstar
One of the notable South OTT releases this week is the Kannada action drama Mango Pachcha. The film stars Sanchith Sanjeev, Kaajal Kunder, Mayur Patel and other actors, with Viveka directing the project.
The story follows Prashanth, popularly known as Pachcha, a CD shop owner from Mysuru whose ordinary life changes dramatically following the death of his father.
What begins as a personal loss eventually takes Pachcha into an unfamiliar side of his family. He discovers the existence of a half-brother named Nagappa and learns about a hidden side of his family's business. The resulting relationship between the two brothers brings together elements of rivalry, family and emotional conflict.

Agadha Brings Supernatural Mystery To ZEE5
For viewers who enjoy supernatural stories, Agadha is another major digital release this week.
The Telugu supernatural mystery thriller stars Kamakshi Bhaskarla, Shravan Reddy, Ulka Gupta, Jovika Vijayakumar and others. The story revolves around Mahadevi, a spiritually gifted exorcist who returns to her ancestral home following her cousin's mysterious death and a series of unexplained incidents.
Her investigation takes her towards a forbidden forest cave, where she discovers a mystical twelve-handed idol and encounters a secretive cult. The story then develops into a supernatural battle involving an ancient dark force.
Agadha will begin streaming on ZEE5 on September 25.
Habeebi Comes To SonyLIV
Tamil cinema also has a new OTT arrival in Habeebi. The drama features Kasthuri Raja, Esha M and Malavika Manoj among its cast.
The story unfolds across four decades in a weaving town near Tirunelveli. At its centre is Yousuf, a traditional weaver attempting to protect his family's handloom legacy.
Alongside the story of the weaving community and its changing circumstances, the film also explores a restrained romantic relationship. The combination of family, tradition, work and personal relationships gives Habeebi a distinctly grounded setting.
The Tamil drama is scheduled to stream on SonyLIV from September 25.
Angikaaram Focuses On A Young Athlete
Another Tamil title joining the OTT lineup is Angikaaram. The film follows Aathiran Banumathi, a talented 200-metre runner who grows up in a Chennai slum.
Despite facing poverty and discrimination, Aathiran manages to earn an opportunity to compete at the Commonwealth Games. However, when his name is unexpectedly removed from the roster, he refuses to accept the setback quietly.
The film follows his struggle to reclaim his opportunity and confront the institutional obstacles standing in his way.
Angikaaram will stream on SunNXT from September 25.
The Paradise Hits Theatres
The OTT lineup isn't the only attraction this week. Telugu cinema also has a major theatrical release in The Paradise, directed by Srikanth Odela.
The film stars Nani, Mohan Babu, Raghav Juyal, Kayadu Lohar, Sampoornesh Babu and Sonali Kulkarni. Set in the slums of 1980s Secunderabad, the story explores the lives of a marginalised community facing social discrimination and deprivation.
Nani plays Jadal, a fierce tribal leader who emerges in a period of oppression and attempts to fight for dignity, rights and freedom for his people.
The Paradise released in theatres on September 24, 2026, making it one of the week's major South theatrical releases.
Keerthy Suresh Leads Dorothy
Tamil cinema has another major theatrical release this week with Dorothy, directed by Karthik Subbaraj.
The film stars Keerthy Suresh alongside Sananth and Rishikanth. Set in rural Tamil Nadu in the early 1990s, the story follows childhood friends Subbu and Karthi, who grow up together in an environment shaped by caste hierarchies, violence and toxic masculinity.
The arrival of Dorothy changes their lives and introduces another emotional dimension to their relationship.
The film also features an original score by legendary composer Ilaiyaraaja. Dorothy had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival before its theatrical release in India on September 25, 2026.
Dorothy Gets Attention Before Release
Dorothy has already attracted international attention through its TIFF premiere. Karthik Subbaraj's film was presented in the Centrepiece section of the festival and became the first Indian Tamil feature at TIFF in the past decade, according to Outlook.
