Sharmila Tagore Celebrates National Film Award Win for Gulmohar
The celebrated Bollywood actress Sharmila Tagore’s film Gulmohar has been honored with the National Film Award 2024. The film emerged victorious in the Best Feature Film category, marking another significant achievement in Sharmila Tagore illustrious career. The award has brought immense joy to the actress and the entire film team, who are basking in the success of this prestigious recognition.
Gulmohar received widespread appreciation from both the audience and critics for its heartwarming portrayal of family dynamics. In an interview with News18 Showsha, Sharmila Tagore expressed her happiness over the win and extended her congratulations to the entire team. “I was just sitting down for lunch when I received the news. I am overjoyed. I immediately called our director Rahul, and then Manoj Bajpayee. Even after the film’s release, we all stayed in touch. Simran, Kavita, Utsavi, Rahul, Manoj, and I have become like a family. The only person I haven’t been able to stay in touch with is Suraj Sharma, as he lives very far away,” she said.
The film also won an award for Best Dialogues, a recognition that Sharmila Tagore finds especially meaningful. She shared, “It’s a huge win for Rahul, especially since Gulmohar is his first film. Winning this award is truly significant for him. Delivering those beautiful dialogues was a delightful experience. I had a wonderful time shooting for this film, especially the scenes with Amol Palekar.”
Expressing her gratitude towards the National Film Award 2024 jury and the Government of India, the veteran actress said, “When Gulmohar was released, it received immense love and appreciation, which continues to this day. This win is proof that when we work hard and create something beautiful, it is always recognized. I am extremely happy for all of us. I sincerely thank the jury for their hours of deliberation and the Government of India for this honor.”
