In a surprising turn of events for Bollywood fans, Shah Rukh Khan is set to dominate Eid 2026 with his highly anticipated film King. The film, which will also feature his daughter Suhana Khan, is slated for release on the festival, marking a significant moment for the superstar, as it will be his first Eid release since Chennai Express.
Producer Siddharth Anand and Shah Rukh Khan have both expressed their desire to have King hit theaters during Eid, aiming to capture the festive spirit with a grand release. This will be Shah Rukh Khan’s first Eid release since his 2013 film, Chennai Express. In King, Shah Rukh will take on the titular role, while Abhishek Bachchan will play the antagonist.
Typically, Eid releases have been dominated by Salman Khan, with his films consistently hitting the screens during this period. Salman’s upcoming film Sikandar is also scheduled for release next Eid, but in 2026, Shah Rukh Khan will take center stage.

Shah Rukh Khan and Suhana Khan’s Big Screen Debut Together
The film King will see Shah Rukh Khan and his daughter Suhana sharing the screen for the first time. Filming for King is set to commence in January of next year, with the first schedule taking place in Mumbai. Following this, the cast will head to Europe for the next filming phases. The film’s producers have conducted extensive scouting in Europe to find unique locations that have not been featured in previous films, aiming to add a fresh visual appeal to King.
Abhishek Bachchan Joins the Cast as the Villain
Directed by Sujoy Ghosh, King promises a dynamic storyline with Shah Rukh Khan in the lead and Abhishek Bachchan portraying the villain. The film’s production is expected to wrap up by August or September of next year, featuring a mix of real locations and studio sets for its action sequences.
In addition to King, Shah Rukh Khan is also working on Pathaan 2, a Yash Raj Films project currently in the scripting phase. As fans eagerly await King, Shah Rukh’s return to the Eid box office spotlight will undoubtedly be one of the most talked-about events in Bollywood in 2026.
