Shah Rukh Khan Confirms ‘King’ with Suhana Khan: Prepares for Intense Action Despite Pain

Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan has officially announced his next project, ‘King,’ which will see him sharing the screen with his daughter, Suhana Khan, for the first time. This news, which has been circulating as a rumor for a while, has finally been confirmed, much to the delight of fans.

The announcement was made during the Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland, where Shah Rukh was honored with the prestigious Pardo Alla Carriera Award for his outstanding contribution to cinema. In his speech, he not only confirmed the film but also shared some behind-the-scenes insights into the making of ‘King.’

Shah Rukh Khan revealed that after wrapping up his recent films, ‘Jawan’ and ‘Dunki,’ he felt the urge to explore a different type of film, something he has been longing to do for the past seven years. In a conversation with Sujoy Ghosh, the director presented him with the concept for ‘King,’ which immediately resonated with the actor.

Discussing his approach to selecting films, Shah Rukh said, “When I feel like working in a particular genre—be it comedy, courtroom drama, or something socially relevant—I make it known publicly. I meet with various people, listen to their stories, and if something clicks, we move forward and make it happen.”

Physical Preparation for ‘King’

For his role in ‘King,’ Shah Rukh Khan will undergo significant physical preparation, including weight loss and stretching exercises, to ensure he’s in top shape for the film’s demanding action scenes. He candidly shared the challenges he faces, stating, “It’s a painful process. I have two bags full of icing machines to manage the pain after stunts. On set, I might look cool, but once the camera stops rolling, I’m usually in a lot of discomfort. Walking becomes tough, and I often need help to ease the pain. But I try to keep up the energy and even manage to blow flying kisses to the fans.”

Suhana Khan’s Role in ‘King’

The film will also mark Suhana Khan’s first collaboration with her father. Suhana, who debuted with ‘The Archies,’ is now set to take on a more significant role in ‘King.’ While her debut film received mixed reviews, this upcoming project is highly anticipated, as it will showcase her talent alongside Bollywood’s biggest star.
