Salman Khan has responded to the questions surrounding his latest song, ‘Teri Sexy Beauty’, from his upcoming film Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace. Ever since the track was released, audiences have been wondering how a playful, romantic dance number fits into a film inspired by the 2020 Galwan Valley clash between Indian and Chinese troops.
At the trailer launch of Maatrubhumi in Mumbai on November 6, Salman addressed the curiosity and explained the situation in which the song appears. According to the actor, the track is part of a sequence where soldiers praise their wives.
Salman Khan Explains the Song's Context
Acknowledging the audience's question, Salman said people would understand the placement of ‘Teri Sexy Beauty’ only after watching the complete film.
He explained that he plays a soldier in the film and the song features a moment when several jawans compliment their wives. The actor said the sequence provides the narrative context for the otherwise upbeat track.
Salman remarked that the question about how the song fits into a war film was already on everyone's mind. He assured viewers that the situation would become clear when they watch the movie in theatres.
The explanation offers a glimpse into the film's personal and family-oriented side, suggesting that Maatrubhumi will not focus exclusively on battlefield action but will also explore the lives and relationships of soldiers.
Salman Jokes About Releasing '1,400 Songs'
During the interaction, Salman also joked about the number of songs released from the film ahead of its theatrical arrival. He said audiences might feel that the makers had already released around 1,400 songs.
The actor explained that there was a reason behind the promotional strategy. The makers had deliberately avoided revealing the actual situations in which the songs appear, as those moments are connected to the film's narrative.
Salman also joked about audiences watching complete music videos before going to the cinema and then feeling tempted to take a bathroom or cigarette break when the same song appears in the film.
He said the team did not want viewers to feel that they had already watched the musical sequences before seeing the movie.
Why 'Teri Sexy Beauty' Faced Questions
The song features Salman Khan and Chitrangda Singh and has a noticeably different mood from what audiences generally associate with a military drama. Its playful lyrics, dance sequences and romantic presentation led several viewers to question its place in a film dealing with a serious military subject.

The track was released on November 4 and also marked Salman's return to playback singing after approximately 11 years. The music is composed and written by Sajid Khan, while Muskaan provides the female vocals.
The song features Salman and Chitrangda in a lively setting, with the actress portraying his wife in the film. The pairing has also attracted attention as it marks their first on-screen collaboration.
Maatrubhumi: Cast and Release Date
Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, Maatrubhumi stars Salman Khan as Colonel B. Santosh Babu, with Chitrangda Singh playing a key role as his wife. The supporting cast includes Mukesh Rishi, Ankur Bhatia, Abhilash Chaudhary, Abhishrri Sen, Javed Khan and Vipin Bhardwaj.
The film was earlier titled Battle of Galwan and has undergone changes before its release. Produced under Salman Khan Films, it is now scheduled to arrive in theatres on December 4, 2026.
Salman's explanation gives audiences an idea of how the romantic track connects with the film's larger story. Whether the sequence blends naturally into the war drama will become clear when Maatrubhumi reaches cinemas.
