Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has made an interesting statement about the possibility of a biopic based on his life. The actor, known for his straightforward and often humorous responses, suggested that an honest film about his journey could create problems for several people whose names might come into the spotlight.
Salman made the remark during a promotional event for his upcoming war drama Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace in Mumbai on November 6. When journalists asked him about the possibility of a film based on his life, the actor responded with his trademark wit.
“There’s nothing in my life that will make a film a superhit. However, there’s a lot in my life which could lead to the reputation of a lot of people sinking,” Salman said.
His statement quickly caught attention, particularly because he hinted that his life includes several stories that could be uncomfortable for others if revealed publicly.
Salman Khan's Candid Response on His Biopic
The question about Salman's biopic came up during a discussion about Maatrubhumi. The actor clarified that his upcoming film is inspired by the 2020 Galwan Valley clash and is not a biographical film about his own life.
When the conversation shifted towards a possible biopic, Salman made it clear that he was not particularly convinced that his personal journey would make a commercially successful film.
However, his follow-up remark added an unexpected twist. By suggesting that certain revelations could damage other people's reputations, he left the audience curious about the experiences he was referring to.
The actor did not identify anyone or provide details about the incidents behind his comment. He also made no announcement about a biopic being planned or developed.
Salman Khan Dismisses Government Pressure Rumours
At the same promotional interaction, Salman also addressed rumours that the government had pressured the makers of Maatrubhumi to change the film's script.
The actor firmly rejected the speculation and described the reports as untrue. He indicated that the changes made during the film's development were part of the creative process rather than the result of any external pressure.
The film, previously associated with the title Battle of Galwan, has attracted considerable attention because of its subject and its connection to a major military confrontation between India and China.
What Is Maatrubhumi About?
Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace is inspired by the June 2020 Galwan Valley clash between Indian and Chinese troops.
Salman Khan plays Colonel Bikkumalla Santosh Babu, the Indian Army officer who led his troops during the confrontation. Chitrangda Singh plays the female lead, while the supporting cast includes Mukesh Rishi, Ankur Bhatia and Abhilash Chaudhary.
The Galwan clash resulted in the deaths of 20 Indian soldiers and became one of the most serious military confrontations between the two countries in decades.
The film aims to bring this chapter of recent history to the big screen through a dramatic portrayal of the soldiers and their experiences.
When Will Maatrubhumi Release?

Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace is scheduled to release in cinemas on December 4, 2026. The film has already generated discussion around its subject, music and portrayal of the Galwan conflict.
Meanwhile, Salman's comment about his biopic has added another talking point to his public appearances. Although the actor has not confirmed any plans for a film based on his life, his remark has certainly sparked curiosity about the untold stories he hinted at.
