When Saif Ali Khan was asked to choose between his then girlfriend Amrita Singh and his debut film by the director, who wanted him to leave Amrita and focus on the movie.
Saif Ali Khan is a highly acclaimed Bollywood actor known for his noteworthy performances in movies such as Dil Chahta Hai, Hum Tum, Salaam Namaste, Sacred Games, and others. Although he made his debut in the industry with Yash Chopra’s Parampara, he was initially expected to mark his debut with Bekhudi.
Saif Ali Khan was initially chosen to play the male lead opposite Kajol in Rahul Rawail’s romantic drama Bekhudi. But after completing the first schedule of the film, Rawail considered him unprofessional and replaced him with Kamal Sadanah.
Saif Ali Khan, in a previous interview, revealed how he was replaced by Kamal Sadanah in Bekhudi after the director, Rahul Rawail, considered him unprofessional. Additionally, Saif shared that the director asked him to make a choice between his then-girlfriend and the debut film.

Saif Ali Khan Struggle in Bollywood
According to a report by Hindustan Times, Saif Ali Khan appeared on the Doordarshan show Subah Savere and was asked about his struggle in the film industry. Saif responded by saying that people have different definitions of what struggle means.
He shared that he faced his own struggles in the industry, and one of them was being removed from his debut film due to a moral dilemma presented by the director. The director asked Saif to either leave his girlfriend or do the film, and Saif chose his girlfriend, who happened to be his now ex-wife Amrita Singh, over the film.

According to Lehren, Saif Ali Khan revealed that he faced difficulty in finding work in Bollywood because nobody wanted to work with him. He shared that Rahul Rawail thought he was not interested in making movies and didn’t want to work. Saif mentioned that this assumption bothered him because there were rumors that he had shown up to work drunk.
During an interview on Doordarshan, Saif Ali Khan expected that there would be less comparison between him and his mother, Sharmila Tagore, because they are of different genders.
