Ramayana Part 1: Sita-Lakshman Fight Scene Missing From Indian Hindi Version? Fans Question Makers

A leaked clip reportedly from the international Hindi version of Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana: Part One has sparked debate online. The footage features Sai Pallavi's Sita and Ravi Dubey's Lakshman fighting off dangerous creatures, a sequence Indian audiences claim was missing from their theatrical version.

Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana: Part One has become a major talking point among moviegoers, but its latest controversy has little to do with box-office collections. A sequence featuring Sai Pallavi as Sita and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman has reportedly surfaced online from the film's international Hindi version. Indian viewers are now questioning why the action scene was seemingly missing from the version screened in domestic theatres.

The footage has triggered discussions on social media platforms, particularly X and Reddit, where viewers are comparing the Indian theatrical release with the international cut. Several fans have expressed disappointment, arguing that the sequence adds an important action moment to the story and gives Sita an opportunity to display her courage.

However, the exact differences between the two Hindi versions have not been officially confirmed. The filmmakers have also not issued a clarification explaining why the sequence appears to be absent from Indian screenings.

What Does the Leaked Sita-Lakshman Fight Scene Show?

The circulating footage reportedly depicts events following the confrontation involving Rama and the demon warriors Khara and Dushana. In the Ramayana narrative, the episode is connected to the conflict that follows Lakshman's punishment of Shurpanakha.

In the sequence, an injured Lakshman is seen running through a rocky canyon with Sita. Three fierce, dog-like creatures are chasing them, forcing the two to look for a place to hide. They eventually take shelter inside a cave located behind a waterfall.

Lakshman sits down to recover from his injuries, while Sita pours water over his wounds. Their brief moment of relief is interrupted when the creatures discover their hiding place and approach the cave.

Sita does not simply wait for help. She gets up, takes out a dagger and prepares to defend herself against the approaching attackers. Lakshman then steps forward, positions himself between Sita and the creatures, and gets ready to fight with his sword despite being injured.

As the creatures leap towards Lakshman, an arrow strikes them in mid-air. The animals are thrown over the waterfall, and the sequence then reveals Rama, played by Ranbir Kapoor, arriving in time to save Sita and Lakshman.

The scene has attracted attention because it presents Sita as someone willing to defend herself while also highlighting Lakshman's determination to protect her despite his injuries.

Why Are Indian Viewers Questioning the Missing Scene?

The debate began after clips reportedly belonging to the international Hindi version started circulating online. Some viewers claim that the sequence was not included in the Indian Hindi theatrical release.

According to reports, the Indian Hindi version runs for approximately 196 minutes, while the English-language international version has a runtime of around 166 minutes. This means the domestic Hindi cut is reportedly about 30 minutes longer than the English version.

The difference in runtime has added another layer to the discussion. Viewers had assumed that the longer Hindi version would contain more footage, but the newly circulated sequence has raised questions about whether the international Hindi cut includes additional scenes that Indian audiences did not get to watch.

The shorter English-language adaptation reportedly removes certain songs and portions of the narrative, including some material associated with the Bharat Milap episode and Rama's family. These edits were reportedly intended to make the epic easier to follow for audiences less familiar with the original story.

However, the current controversy concerns a different comparison: the Indian Hindi release versus the international Hindi version. It remains unclear whether the action sequence was deliberately removed from the domestic cut, whether the versions were prepared with different editing choices, or whether the footage being circulated has been interpreted correctly.

Fans Praise Sita's Action Moment

The sequence has received considerable attention from fans who believe it adds an interesting dimension to Sita's portrayal. Social media users have particularly highlighted the moment when she takes out a dagger rather than remaining passive in the face of danger.

Some viewers have also praised the visual presentation of the sequence and its action choreography. Others have questioned why a scene that reportedly features in the international Hindi version was not included in Indian theatres.

Several users have appealed to the filmmakers to make the reportedly missing footage available in India. Some have argued that the sequence provides additional context to the events involving Rama, Sita and Lakshman.

Nevertheless, these reactions represent viewers' opinions and do not establish the filmmakers' reasons for the editing decisions. The production team has not publicly explained the difference being discussed online.

Ramayana Makers Issue Warning Over Leaked Footage

The controversy has emerged at a time when the film's makers are taking action against unauthorised recordings and circulation of theatrical footage.

On November 8, 2026, reports said that the official Ramayana team had issued a legal warning against people recording scenes inside cinemas and sharing them online. The notice referred to Bombay High Court orders dated November 2 and November 6, 2026, restricting unauthorised recording, uploading and distribution of the film or any part of it.

The makers reportedly asked people who had already shared unauthorised clips to remove them. They also warned that violations could invite civil, criminal and contempt proceedings.

The legal warning is significant because the Sita-Lakshman sequence has become a subject of online discussion through circulating footage. Viewers should distinguish between officially released promotional material and unauthorised clips taken or shared without permission.

Ramayana: Part One Features Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana: Part One features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana. Ravi Dubey plays Lakshman, while the ensemble cast also includes Sunny Deol, Arun Govil, Lara Dutta, Vivek Oberoi and several other actors.

The film is produced by Namit Malhotra and presents the Indian epic on a large cinematic scale, combining mythology, action and visual effects. Its different versions and international release strategy have also become topics of discussion among audiences.

For now, the debate surrounding the Sita-Lakshman sequence remains unresolved. Until the makers explain the differences between the Indian and international Hindi cuts, it is unclear why the footage appears in one version but not the other. Fans are waiting for an official clarification and hoping that the reportedly missing scene will eventually become available to Indian audiences.
