Ranbir Kapoor and Yash’s upcoming mythological epic Ramayana: Part 1 is building momentum at the box office even before its theatrical release. With advance bookings underway, the film is approaching the ₹25 crore mark in reported Indian gross booking value when blocked seats are included.
According to figures reported by The Times of India on October 26, the film had sold approximately 2.16 lakh tickets across 161 cities, generating an estimated ₹12.50 crore in advance-booking gross from ticket sales. When blocked seats were included, the reported gross value rose to approximately ₹23.28 crore.
These figures need to be understood separately. The ₹23.28 crore figure includes blocked-seat value and is not the same as the amount generated by tickets actually sold. The distinction is important when comparing advance-booking totals reported by different box-office trackers.
The early numbers nevertheless indicate considerable interest in the film ahead of its scheduled November 5 release.
Worldwide Advance Bookings Cross ₹20 Crore
The film’s early performance is also attracting attention in overseas markets. An India Today report published on October 26 stated that worldwide advance bookings had reached approximately ₹20.50 crore, based on around 2.25 lakh tickets sold across India and tracked international markets.
The worldwide figure includes advance sales across multiple territories and should not be directly compared with the Indian collection alone. The totals may also vary depending on the tracking platform, show dates included and whether blocked seats are counted.
North America has emerged as an important overseas market, with preview screenings scheduled for November 4, a day before the film’s regular theatrical release in India.
The international response could become a significant part of the film’s overall box-office performance, particularly as more showtimes and booking options become available closer to release.
Hindi Version Leads Ramayana Ticket Sales
The Hindi version is currently contributing the largest share of the reported Indian advance bookings.
According to the figures published by The Times of India, approximately 1.84 lakh Hindi tickets had been sold, generating an estimated ₹10.98 crore in advance-booking gross.
Maharashtra was reported as the leading state, with around 46,937 tickets sold and an estimated collection of ₹3.20 crore. Mumbai led among individual cities, recording approximately 27,959 tickets and ₹2.07 crore in reported advance sales.
The film is also being released in regional-language versions, including Kannada and Telugu. Demand across these markets will help determine how broadly the film connects with audiences across India.
Three-dimensional screenings have also contributed significantly to advance sales, reflecting the interest in experiencing the large-scale mythological production on premium screens.
Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Yash as Ravana
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana: Part 1 features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram and Sai Pallavi as Sita. Yash plays Ravana, while Sunny Deol appears as Hanuman and Ravi Dubey portrays Lakshman.
The ensemble cast also includes Arun Govil as Dasharatha, Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi, Anupam Kher as Jatayu and Rakul Preet Singh as Surpanakha.
The film is being produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus in association with Yash’s Monster Mind Creations. Its ambitious scale, mythological subject and high-profile cast have made it one of the most closely watched Indian releases of 2026.
The project is planned as a two-part cinematic adaptation, with the second instalment scheduled for release in 2027.
Can Ramayana Deliver a Big Opening?
With advance bookings continuing ahead of November 5, the next challenge will be converting early interest into strong opening-day attendance.
The final advance-booking total will depend on the pace of ticket sales, the number of shows available, pricing and audience demand across domestic and international markets. Additional shows and premium-format screenings could further influence the figures as release day approaches.
Although the current numbers suggest a promising start, advance-booking totals alone cannot determine the film’s final box-office outcome. Audience response after release, reviews and weekday performance will be equally important in assessing its theatrical run.
For now, Ramayana: Part 1 is approaching the ₹25 crore mark in reported Indian gross booking value when blocked seats are included, while worldwide pre-sales have reportedly crossed ₹20 crore. The coming days will reveal whether the epic can build further momentum before its theatrical debut.
