Parineeti Chopra has revealed a surprising detail about the making of her Netflix series Shaque: Trust No One. The actress discovered that she was pregnant while the show was already being filmed in Shimla.
Parineeti plays a mother whose newborn daughter is abducted, forcing her character to spend years searching for the missing child. The emotionally intense storyline required her to portray grief, desperation and a mother's determination.
Interestingly, while filming the series, Parineeti was herself beginning her journey towards motherhood. She later welcomed her son, Neer, with husband Raghav Chadha in October 2025.
She Discovered Her Pregnancy Midway Through The Shoot
Parineeti revealed that she found out about her pregnancy after the shoot had already begun.
The team was filming in Shimla and Chail when she received the news. She initially worried about how the development might affect the project and whether the makers would be concerned about the demanding shooting schedule.
However, those fears quickly disappeared when the production team assured her that her health and safety would come first.
The actress has repeatedly described the experience as unusual but deeply positive because of the way the filmmakers responded to the situation.
‘They Treated Me Like A Baby’
According to Parineeti, the Shaque team went out of its way to make the shoot comfortable for her.
She revealed that the makers changed certain action sequences and adapted physically demanding portions of the script around her pregnancy. Instead of asking her to take unnecessary risks, the team worked out ways to preserve the scenes while ensuring she was comfortable.
The actress particularly praised director Rensil D’Silva and the show's producers for supporting her throughout the process.
She also recalled that some of the shooting locations were difficult to reach, with long journeys through mountainous roads. To avoid unnecessary travel, the team arranged accommodation for her near the shooting locations.
Why Parineeti Is Glad She Was Not Yet A Mother
The most interesting part of Parineeti's latest revelation concerns the emotional nature of her character.
In Shaque, she portrays a mother dealing with the unimaginable trauma of losing her child. While filming the series, Parineeti had not yet experienced motherhood herself.
Looking back after becoming a mother, she believes that this actually helped her complete the role.
She has said that if she had already given birth to Neer before filming the series, the emotional scenes might have become extremely difficult for her to perform. She feels she may have struggled to separate herself from the character's pain.
‘I Would Cry In Every Scene’
Parineeti has explained that her perspective on the story changed dramatically after becoming a mother.
She has said that watching or reading the scenes today affects her differently because she can now understand the emotions of motherhood through personal experience.
The actress believes that if she had been a mother while shooting the series, she might have cried during almost every scene involving the missing child.
For her, the experience demonstrates how much an actor's personal life can influence the way a character is understood and performed.
The Makers Changed Action Scenes For Her
Shooting Shaque was not simply an emotional challenge. The series also involved physically demanding sequences.
Parineeti revealed that the production team modified some of the action scenes once they learned about her pregnancy. The objective was to keep the sequences visually effective without putting her at unnecessary risk.

According to the actress, Raghav immediately travelled to Shimla to be with her. Her mother, mother-in-law and brothers also visited during the shoot.
Parineeti jokingly recalled that it seemed as though her entire family had arrived on the set.
She described the period as particularly special because Shaque represented both her streaming debut and a major chapter in her personal life.
