Nora Fatehi has opened up about one of the early turning points in her career, revealing the reason she agreed to enter Bigg Boss 9 as a wild-card contestant. The actress and dancer said she was initially reluctant to participate in the reality show but eventually saw it as an opportunity to expand her reach.

Nora made the revelation while speaking on the Untriggered podcast. She recalled that she was going through a difficult phase professionally at the time, with payments for several songs still pending. When the offer for Bigg Boss arrived, she initially turned it down.
Nora Fatehi Was Initially Not Interested in Bigg Boss
Nora revealed that she had already worked on several songs before entering Bigg Boss 9. However, according to her, she was struggling to receive payments for some of that work.
She said the producers had apparently paid the agency, but she was still waiting for her money. She described the situation as frustrating and said she was involved in efforts to recover her pending payments.
It was during this period that she received the offer to participate in Bigg Boss. Nora said she initially told the makers that she did not want to do the show.
The Bigg Boss Offer Changed Her Mind
Although Nora was not interested in reality television initially, the financial offer attached to Bigg Boss made her reconsider.
She explained that when the makers told her how much she would be paid, she changed her mind. Nora also began looking at the show from a different perspective and recognised that it could provide significant exposure to a relatively new performer.

For her, the reality show was not simply about staying inside the house. She viewed it as a platform that could help her become familiar to a much larger audience.
Nora Had a Condition Before Entering Bigg Boss 9
Nora's biggest motivation, however, was not just the payment or television exposure. She had another career opportunity in mind.
The actress revealed that she wanted to participate in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, another reality show that aired on the same channel. She therefore negotiated with the makers and asked them to give her an opportunity on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa in exchange for doing Bigg Boss.
According to Nora, the arrangement worked out and she eventually received the opportunity she wanted.
Nora Saw Bigg Boss as a Career Platform
Looking back, Nora described Bigg Boss as a platform that could help a contestant become widely recognised if used strategically.

She pointed out that she was entering as a wild-card contestant and therefore did not expect to remain in the house for a very long time. Instead, she saw the experience as a chance to increase her visibility and potentially use that exposure for other professional opportunities.
This approach eventually became an important part of her early journey in the Indian entertainment industry.

Nora entered Bigg Boss 9 in December 2015 as a wild-card contestant. She stayed in the house for around three weeks before being evicted in January 2016.

Prince eventually went on to win that season.
Nora and Prince Narula’s Bond
During her stay in Bigg Boss 9, Nora developed a close bond with Prince Narula. Their playful and flirtatious interactions became a recurring part of the show's episodes.

Prince even proposed to Nora during their time together in the house. Their equation became one of the talking points surrounding Nora's brief stint on the reality show.
Despite the attention around their relationship inside the house, Nora's career continued to move forward after her exit.
From Bigg Boss to a Bigger Career
Nora Fatehi went on to establish herself as a dancer, performer and actor in the Indian entertainment industry. She gained widespread recognition through popular dance numbers and later expanded into acting and music.
One of the major milestones in her career came with the song Dilbar from Satyameva Jayate. The recreated track became a major success and significantly increased Nora's popularity among Hindi film audiences.
