Bollywood Mascot: In a recent interview, acclaimed actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui made headlines with his surprising remarks about Bollywood stars Deepika Padukone and Shraddha Kapoor. Siddiqui, known for his stellar performances in films such as Gangs of Wasseypur, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, and Sacred Games, revealed that he has not seen any films featuring these prominent actresses. Siddiqui's latest film, Adbhut, a horror-thriller directed by Sabbir Khan, premiered on Sony Max on September 15. The film features Diana Penty and Shreya Dhanwanthary in leading roles and marks Siddiqui’s foray into the supernatural genre. During the promotion of Adbhut, Siddiqui was asked about his views on various Bollywood celebrities, including Deepika Padukone and Shraddha Kapoor. When questioned about Deepika Padukone, Siddiqui admitted, "I haven't seen any of her work. I don't know." This revelation is quite surprising given Padukone's significant presence in the Indian film industry and her acclaimed performances in movies like Padmaavat and Chennai Express. Similarly, Siddiqui expressed unfamiliarity with Shraddha Kapoor's work. When asked about Kapoor, Siddiqui said, "I don't know anything about her." He added that he has not seen the popular film Stree starring Kapoor but mentioned that he plans to watch it in the future. Both Deepika Padukone and Shraddha Kapoor are considered leading actresses in Hindi cinema. Padukone, who made her debut with the Kannada film Aishwarya in 2006, has been a prominent figure in Bollywood for 18 years. Kapoor, who entered the industry 14 years ago, has also established herself as a major star with hits like Aashiqui 2 and Chhichhore. Siddiqui’s comments highlight an interesting aspect of his professional focus, emphasizing that despite being a major actor himself, he may not always be familiar with the work of other leading stars. This revelation adds a new dimension to his public persona, showcasing his selective engagement with the industry’s ongoing trends and personalities.
