Mukesh Khanna, known for his iconic roles in popular TV shows like Shaktimaan and Mahabharat, has entertained audiences for years. Beyond his acting career, he is also known for voicing his opinions on various social issues. Recently, Khanna expressed his disappointment and anger towards Bollywood stars Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, and Akshay Kumar for endorsing pan masala products. Khanna emphasized that such endorsements should not be done just for money.

The veteran actor, who is known for speaking his mind, recently took a strong stand against these celebrities for promoting products that he believes are harmful. In a recent interview, Mukesh Khanna urged these actors to stop promoting pan masala and gambling apps through misleading surrogate advertisements.

“They Should Be Rebuked,” Says Mukesh Khanna

During an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Mukesh Khanna did not hold back his disappointment regarding the choices of these stars. He stated, “If you ask me, I’d say they should be scolded. I’ve already told them this. I even scolded Akshay Kumar, who is known to be very health-conscious. Ajay Devgn greets with respect, and now Shah Rukh Khan is also following the same path. These ads cost crores of rupees, but what message are you sending to the public? They claim they are not selling pan masala, but betel nut. However, they know exactly what they are doing.”

Khanna also spoke about the harmful effects of surrogate advertising. He said, “When you advertise for Kingfisher, it means you’re promoting Kingfisher beer. Everyone knows this; it’s called misleading advertising. Why do they do these ads? Don’t they have enough money? I told them to stop doing this because they already have plenty of money.”

He added, “Some actors agreed with me, and Akshay Kumar is one of them. If I’m not mistaken, even Amitabh Bachchan distanced himself from these endorsements. But, to date, crores of rupees have been spent on these ads. People are throwing colors on each other and chanting ‘Kesariyaa Zubaan.’ You’re teaching people to chew gutkha! Don’t do this!”

It’s worth noting that Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, and Akshay Kumar faced a lot of criticism when they appeared together in a Vimal pan masala ad.
