Filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan is returning to the big screen with a story that blends romance, mystery and supernatural elements. His upcoming film Remain has unveiled its first teaser, giving audiences a glimpse of the unusual relationship between Jake Gyllenhaal and Phoebe Dynevor.
The film is based on a story developed by Shyamalan and bestselling author Nicholas Sparks, bringing together two filmmakers known for very different storytelling styles. While Sparks is famous for emotional romantic dramas, Shyamalan has built his reputation around psychological mysteries and unexpected twists.
Remain is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on February 5, 2027.

The preview ends on an ominous note, suggesting that Tate's romantic connection may be linked to something far more dangerous.
What Is Remain About?
According to the film's official premise, Tate travels to a coastal town to complete a project and finds himself drawn towards Wren.

Shyamalan and Nicholas Sparks developed the story together, while Sparks wrote the novel Remain: A Supernatural Love Story and Shyamalan adapted the material into a screenplay.
Shyamalan is directing the film, making this his first feature following Trap, which was released in 2024.
Sparks, meanwhile, returns to the big screen through a project that moves beyond the straightforward romantic dramas traditionally associated with his work.
