Kartik Aaryan has thanked President Droupadi Murmu for her encouraging words about Chandu Champion following his National Award win. Kartik played Petkar in the Kabir Khan-directed sports biopic. The role required extensive physical preparation, including swimming and boxing training, along with a major transformation in his physique. Reports have stated that the actor underwent around 14 months of preparation for the part.
The film was produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and directed by Kabir Khan.

Veteran actor Anant Nag was also honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for 2024.
