Kartik Aaryan's upcoming film Captain India has added another major name to its cast. South actress Parvathy Thiruvothu has reportedly joined the Shimit Amin directorial in a pivotal role, adding further weight to what is shaping up to be an ambitious aviation thriller.
The film has already generated curiosity because it marks Shimit Amin's return to feature filmmaking after a long gap. The director is known for films such as Ab Tak Chhappan, Chak De! India and Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year.
According to reports, Captain India is inspired by one of India's major humanitarian rescue operations. Kartik Aaryan will reportedly play a pilot who leads the rescue mission, putting the actor in a role that is quite different from the romantic and comic characters audiences have frequently seen him play.
Parvathy's character is being kept under wraps for now, but reports suggest that her role will be integral to the narrative. The actress brings considerable experience from both Malayalam and Hindi cinema, having impressed audiences with performances in films such as Take Off, Uyare, Bangalore Days and Qarib Qarib Single.
The cast also reportedly includes Manish Chaudhary in a key role. With Kartik playing the central pilot and Parvathy taking on an important character, the film appears to be building an ensemble around the central rescue story.
What makes Captain India particularly interesting is the combination of real-world inspiration and large-scale aviation drama. Rather than being a conventional action film, the story is expected to focus on the human stakes involved in bringing people to safety from a war-torn country.
The project is backed by Baweja Studios and T-Series, with Harman Baweja also associated with the screenplay. Reports indicate that the film is expected to begin its next major shooting phase in September 2026.
For Kartik Aaryan, Captain India could be an important opportunity to step into a more serious, performance-oriented space. The actor will reportedly be playing a character whose responsibility extends far beyond his own survival, as he takes charge of a high-risk rescue operation.
For Shimit Amin, meanwhile, the film represents a much-awaited return behind the camera. His earlier films established him as a filmmaker capable of combining strong characters with compelling real-world situations, making his comeback one of the major talking points around Captain India.
With Kartik Aaryan, Parvathy Thiruvothu and Shimit Amin coming together for a story inspired by a major humanitarian operation, Captain India has already become one of the more intriguing upcoming Hindi films. More details about Parvathy's character and the film's full storyline are expected to emerge as production progresses.
