Kartik Aaryan Celebrates Ganesh Chaturthi in UK Amid Captain India Shoot

Kartik Aaryan is celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi away from Mumbai this year while shooting for Captain India in the UK. The actor shared glimpses of his celebration, including a Ganesh idol, modaks and a plate of chhole bhature, giving fans a taste of his festive mood abroad.

For Kartik Aaryan, Ganesh Chaturthi looks a little different this year. Instead of celebrating the festival in Mumbai with family and friends, the actor is currently in the United Kingdom for the shoot of his upcoming film Captain India.

Being away from home, however, did not stop Kartik from marking the occasion. The actor shared a picture of himself with a Ganesh idol on social media and summed up his feelings with the words, “Miles away from home, but never away from Bappa!” He also added the traditional greeting, “Ganpati Bappa Morya.”

The post offered fans a personal glimpse into how the actor is observing the festival while being on an overseas film schedule.

A Little Bit of Mumbai in the UK

Kartik did not stop at sharing a picture with the idol. He also gave followers a peek at the food accompanying his celebration.

Among the pictures shared by the actor were traditional modaks, one of the most closely associated sweets with Ganesh Chaturthi. He also shared a picture of himself enjoying a plate of chhole bhature, bringing an unmistakably Indian touch to his celebration in the UK.

For someone spending the festival away from Mumbai, the combination of Bappa, modaks and familiar Indian food made the celebration feel closer to home.

Kartik's caption also reflected the emotional side of the occasion. While he acknowledged the physical distance from home, his message made it clear that he still wanted to remain connected to the festival.

Captain India Keeps Kartik Busy in London

The reason behind Kartik's absence from Mumbai is his professional commitment to Captain India.

The actor is currently filming the upcoming project in the UK under the direction of Shimit Amin, the filmmaker known for Chak De! India. The film has been mounted as an action drama and is being produced by T-Series, Baweja Studios and other production partners.

The London schedule began earlier this month, with reports indicating that the shoot is expected to continue through October.

Kartik had also given fans a glimpse of his Captain India preparations before the London schedule began. He shared a photograph from his journey while holding a copy of the shooting draft, offering an early look at his commitment to the project.

What Is Captain India About?

Captain India is being presented as a large-scale story connected to an Indian evacuation mission in a war-torn country. Kartik is expected to play the central character in the film, which is being positioned as an action-driven project with a strong emotional and patriotic element.

The screenplay has been credited to Nash Vazifdar, Sanchit Gupta and Priyadarshee Shrivastava, while Shimit Amin is directing the film.

The project is currently scheduled for a theatrical release on August 13, 2027, around the Independence Day weekend.

For Kartik, the film represents another sizeable project in a rapidly expanding lineup.

Ganesh Chaturthi Comes During a Busy Phase for Kartik

The actor's UK schedule comes at a particularly busy point in his career.

Apart from Captain India, Kartik has several other projects lined up, including Naagzilla and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 4. He is also associated with Anurag Basu's upcoming musical drama with Sreeleela, which is reportedly in production.

At the same time, Kartik is preparing for another major milestone. He is set to receive his first National Film Award for his performance in Chandu Champion. The 2026 National Film Awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on September 22 in Gujarat.

So, even while the actor is thousands of kilometres away from Mumbai, his professional calendar remains packed.

A Festival Celebration Away From the Usual Bollywood Gatherings

Ganesh Chaturthi often brings Bollywood stars together in Mumbai, with celebrities visiting each other's homes and attending large public celebrations.

This year, Kartik's celebration was different. Instead of being surrounded by Mumbai's familiar festive atmosphere, he marked the occasion from the UK between his professional commitments.

His social media updates allowed fans to see that distance did not prevent him from maintaining the spirit of the festival.

The simple photographs — a Ganesh idol, modaks and chhole bhature — told the story without the need for a grand celebration. Kartik's short message about being “miles away” from home also resonated with the experience of anyone who has spent an important festival away from family.

Kartik Aaryan Keeps Bappa Close Despite the Distance

For Kartik Aaryan, this year's Ganesh Chaturthi has been a mix of work and tradition.

While Captain India has taken him to the UK for an important shooting schedule, the actor still found a way to celebrate Bappa and share the moment with his followers. His posts showed that being away from Mumbai did not mean being disconnected from the festival.

With the London shoot continuing and several major projects waiting in the wings, Kartik has plenty on his professional plate. But for one day, the actor made room for a little festive celebration — complete with Bappa, modaks and a proper desi meal.

And perhaps that was the most familiar part of all: no matter where the shoot takes him, Kartik Aaryan still found a way to bring a little bit of home along.
