Jimmy Shergill Reveals the Truth: Will This Blockbuster Film Be Re-Released on Its 25th Anniversary?

Bollywood actor Jimmy Shergill is currently busy promoting his latest series, Sikandar Ka Muqaddar. During the promotions, he opened up about the possibility of re-releasing his iconic film Mohabbatein on its 25th anniversary.

Starring Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, and Aishwarya Rai, Mohabbatein is regarded as one of the most cherished classics of Hindi cinema. Released in 2000, the film captured the hearts of audiences with its powerful storyline, soulful music, and timeless romance. It holds a special place in the hearts of those who grew up in the late ’90s and early 2000s.

Recently, Bollywood has witnessed a trend of re-releasing successful films, which has sparked excitement among fans about the potential return of Mohabbatein. Addressing these speculations, Jimmy Shergill, who played a significant role in the movie, shared his thoughts on the matter.

In an interview with ANI,Jimmy Shergill was asked if he would like to see Mohabbatein back on the big screen. He responded enthusiastically, saying, “A film like this deserves to be re-released on its 25th anniversary. Even today, when it airs on TV, children watch it. Being part of such an evergreen classic feels incredible.”

Directed by Aditya Chopra, Mohabbatein revolves around the intersecting lives of students and teachers at a prestigious college. The narrative explores themes of love, discipline, and rebellion as it portrays the clash between a strict principal and the spirit of young romance. The film’s music was a chartbuster, and its dialogues remain etched in the memories of fans.

Jimmy Shergill’s New Project: Sikandar Ka Muqaddar

While reminiscing about Mohabbatein, Jimmy Shergill is also gearing up for his upcoming crime thriller series, Sikandar Ka Muqaddar, directed by Neeraj Pandey. The series premiered on Netflix on November 29 and features Tamannaah Bhatia and Avinash Tiwari alongside Jimmy.

In the show, Jimmy plays Inspector Jaswinder Singh, a determined policeman chasing a case that has haunted him for years. Speaking about reuniting with Neeraj Pandey for the fifth time, Jimmy said, “It’s always a pleasure working with Neeraj. We’ve collaborated on films like Special 26 and A Wednesday, and now Sikandar Ka Muqaddar is another thrilling project we’ve created together.”

As fans eagerly await his series, many are equally excited about the possibility of Mohabbatein making its way back to theaters, allowing a new generation to experience its magic.
