Divya Khosla Takes a Dig at Alia Bhatt Over ‘Jigra’ Collections; Karan Johar Reacts!
Alia Bhatt’s latest film Jigra has become a hot topic ever since its release. While the movie is being discussed for its box office numbers, Divya Khosla Kumar has joined the controversy with a sharp jab at Alia. Earlier, Kangana Ranaut had subtly criticized Alia’s film’s sluggish start, and now Divya has taken it a step further, accusing the makers of reporting fake collections. In response, Karan Johar has also shared a cryptic post, adding fuel to the fire.
Directed by Vasan Bala, Jigra hit theaters recently, bringing Alia Bhatt back in an action-packed role after her success in Raazi. Alongside Alia, the film stars Vedang Raina in a significant role. The movie is also co-produced by Alia Bhatt and Karan Johar, making it a highly anticipated project. However, since its release, questions around the film’s box office figures have sparked debate.

Divya Khosla Targets Alia Bhatt
On the occasion of Dussehra, actress Divya Khosla Kumar shared a post after attending a screening of Jigra at City Mall, expressing her disappointment over the empty theater. She didn’t hold back and accused Alia of inflating box office numbers. In her post, she wrote,
“I went to see Jigra at City Mall PVR, and the theater was completely empty. It seems Alia Bhatt really has a lot of ‘jigra’ (courage) to buy tickets herself and announce fake collections. I am surprised that the paid media is silent about this.”
Adding to the dig, Divya used the hashtag #Don’tFoolTheAudience to further emphasize her point.
Karan Johar’s Cryptic Reaction
After Divya’s harsh comment, Karan Johar took to Instagram to respond indirectly. In a subtle post, the filmmaker shared,
“Silence is the best speech one can give to a fool.”
Divya didn’t stay quiet either. Soon after Karan’s post, she responded with another cryptic message on her Instagram story, saying,
“The truth always disturbs fools.”
This exchange between Divya and Karan has intrigued fans, turning it into a heated online debate.
Is Jigra a Copy of Satyameva Jayate 2?
Adding to the controversy, some social media users have accused Jigra of copying the storyline of Divya Khosla’s earlier film, Satyameva Jayate 2. In Satyameva Jayate 2, Divya’s character goes to great lengths to free her husband from jail. Similarly, Jigra shows Alia Bhatt’s character on a mission to rescue her brother, played by Vedang Raina, from prison. This similarity has led many to call Jigra a rehashed version of Divya’s film.
According to reports from Sacnilk, Jigra earned approximately ₹4.55 crores on its opening day, followed by around ₹6 crores on the second day, bringing its total domestic collection to ₹11 crores so far. However, these figures have raised doubts, and their authenticity remains unverified.
