Bollywood Mascot: The release of the teaser and trailer for Jigra, directed by Vasan Bala and starring Alia Bhatt, has generated significant excitement among Bollywood fans. However, the director recently found himself in the midst of a social media storm due to an oversight involving actress Shraddha Kapoor. On September 8, 2024, Vasan Bala's film Jigra made headlines with its highly anticipated teaser and trailer, which received a positive reception from viewers. Shraddha Kapoor, who is currently enjoying the success of her film Stree 2, praised the Jigra trailer on her Instagram story. She expressed her enthusiasm, stating that she was eager to watch the film with her brother and commended both Alia Bhatt and the trailer itself. However, controversy arose when Vasan Bala posted an appreciation message for Stree 2 without tagging Shraddha Kapoor. This omission led to backlash from Kapoor’s fans, who felt that the actress deserved recognition for her contribution. The resulting criticism prompted Bala to issue a public apology. In his apology, Vasan Bala expressed his gratitude to Shraddha Kapoor and her fans, saying, "Thank you so much, Shraddha. I hope you and Siddhant (Shraddha’s brother) enjoy the film. I also want to take this opportunity to apologize to your fans. My oversight was unintentional, and I hope you all can forgive me for this lapse." Jigra, which was initially slated for a September 27, 2024 release, has now been rescheduled to October 11, 2024. The film, produced by Alia Bhatt and Karan Johar, features Bhatt alongside Vedang Raina in lead roles. The story revolves around a sister who goes to great lengths to save her brother, showcasing themes of bravery and familial bonds. As the release date of Jigra approaches, the film's promotional activities continue, with Alia Bhatt’s involvement in both the production and lead role adding to the film’s anticipation.
